Many of our JK/SK friends came to school with some really cool patterns. Take a look.
The JK students were introduced to patterns this past week and the SK students were challenged to extend there understanding by identifying different attributes (shape, size, colour) in a pattern. Alex, Logan, Jacob and Seth had fun using coloured elastics and paint sticks to create repeated patterns. Lacey, Eli and Molly use sponge shapes to create repeated patterns. Take a close look. All of them have gone beyond a simple ABA pattern to create more complex patterns. Way to go! We gave a pair of students a bag of connecting blocks. They had to work together to create one pattern train. They did such a great job! Excellent team work! They even had fun making patterns out of pool noodles. Finally, to kick off the holiday season some students created patterns with a holiday theme. Molly and Makena created a repeated pattern that shows three different attributes; size, colour and shape.
